Fashion and PPE Are Not Mutually Exclusive: DIY Tips for Customisation

One of the things that most workers were so happy about when restrictions were finally lifted after the height of Covid-19 was the fact that they no longer had to wear those dreadful face masks. It wasn’t so much that they were uncomfortable but rather that they were so unattractive. There’s nothing worse than ruining a perfectly good professional outfit with an N95 respirator mask that made you look like a pest exterminator.

Actually, there are ways to dress up those masks a bit so that they can be fashionable and if it comes to a time when the flu or other viruses start escalating, you can do a bit of DIY styling for PPE your staff may need to wear once again. Let’s look at a few tips to have on hand just “in case.”

Dressing Up FFP2 Masks Made Easy

Since masks may be the first thing your staff will need to wear, especially when dealing with the public, it would be those face masks mentioned above. As long as they are approved by the HSE and WHO, they are considered to be 94% to 95% effective in filtering out those microscopic particulates (germs). A little customisation isn’t going to affect them one way or another.

When you order them in bulk from PPE Suppliers, take the time to check out printable vinyl sticker paper so that you can print up a huge assortment of stylish, and perhaps comical, stickers that can be placed at the cheek. Just remember not to order the accordion fold masks because stickers won’t work and they are not approved as being effective. Just watch and see how quickly the fad takes hold as everyone wants to get in on the fun of ‘dressing up’ their masks.

Your Customers Will Love Them Too!

Do you remember just how difficult it was to get customers to put on face masks during those early days of the pandemic? You were allowed, and even encouraged, to refuse to let them in your place of business, but that didn’t bode well for your bottom line. Altogether too often they resented you for making them don a face mask but you, like all the other businesses in your town, were up against the very same thing.

This time, if one of the Omicron variants starts to become epidemic in your area, you can be prepared with funny little DIY waterproof stickers that will actually appeal to customers and staff alike. It’s something they can have a good laugh about and if you carry those themes forward with shopping bags being printed, stickers for their lapels, and even advertising pens being printed, you might actually find that it increases your business because it’s a unique, ‘fashionable’ approach to PPE.

Why Can’t PPE Be Fashionable – Or Fun At the Very Least?

There is no reason why PPE can’t be fashionable if you want your staff and customers to wear them! Simply think thematic, seasonal, or just good fun and you will be the talk of the town. What do you want to be that you might even start a ‘mask war’ with the competition? Is there any reason why PPE can’t be a marketing tool as well as a safety precaution? This time, if it becomes necessary, you will be prepared, and what a lot of fun you’ll have doing just that.
